About This Game Gosh, the universe is an exciting place—home to so many strange worlds and potential new friends. Unless, of course, you’re on the ESS Shyp, Erth’s best, and you’ve seen everything, and none of it can live up to Erth. At least, that’s how First Officer Commander Nadalie seems to think. If only there was a way to totally, irresponsibly and wantonly reshape the entire universe to a single, totally unqualified person’s will. Understandably, Second Officer Commander Aysha doesn’t think such power belongs in any mortal’s hands, especially not one already ambitious Erthling with little love for alien life. But what do you, Captain-What’s-Your-Name, think about it? It’s up to you to take control of your crew and your rogue officer. Commander Aysha and the rest of the ship have your back, and you can probably convince a few aliens to your cause, but what kind of captain are you really? Watch what you say, because your choices are what’ll get you with the right commander. And more importantly... are you going to save the universe from an absurdly unnecessary rebirth? Drink some coffee, get in the captain’s chair, and at least give it a shot! Somehow, this isn’t a total brawl. Instead of the usual RPG combat, you’re going to need to break out your adventuring and dialogue skills. You get to pick your body, gender, hair, name, and pretty much everything you say as an otherwise silent protagonist. You have three personality stats to keep an eye on, which may dictate how others respond to you, and even if your officers are interested in a little more than friendship! We’ll assume for now you’re a somewhat good person. But are you a brooding yet overall just person, a kind-hearted friend, or a charming Casanova? And will you simply save the universe, or will you learn more about your team and find some relics of the past before you do? You have four planets, two dynamic crew members (plus a handful of lesser minions), and four unique aliens to add to your repertoire. This is a first-shot game crafted with love and coffee, so take Hodeaka Studio’s best wishes on enjoying this bizarre little questionably-sci-fi adventure! Tip - Press F1 on the main menu to open up options like 'Launch in Full Screen' and to customize your controls! Good luck, Captain! 1075eedd30 Title: Save the Universe, Please!Genre: AdventureDeveloper:Hodeaka StudioPublisher:Hodeaka StudioRelease Date: 31 Aug, 2016 Save The Universe, Please! Patch 8 Download Pc So I've only played for a couple minutes and I've already had a couple minor issues with the game. For one, there doesn't seem to be an option to resize the window or at least I can't seem to find one and I can't just maximize either for some reason. Second I unexpectedly had some difficulty with typing in the name of the character/pronouns. When it asks you the character name there is already something there by default that you have to delete before putting your name in but none of the options on screen seemed to delete previous characters. I eventually resorted to trying every key on my keyboard and the only one that deleted characters was the right hand zero key for some reason. Lastly I'm not too fond of the fact that you move with the arrow keys instead of wasd, though I can deal with it. You seem to interact by pressing enter so it would have been a bit more convenient to be able to have one hand on the movement keys and the other on enter.I am not going to give it a bad review though because I haven't played much of it yet and I'm hoping that the gameplay will be fun. I'll update my review after I've played a decent amount of the game to talk about the gameplay.. I'll say this right off the bat. This game is great if you're looking for something really laid back. It has a cute, light-hearted story; nothing too deep, and the gameplay itself is quite simple. It also has a bit of a Star Trek feel to it. You can definitely tell the creator is a fan.Basically, you're the captain of a spaceship. You travel from planet to planet chasing down your threat-to-the-unverse first officer while collecting some alien friends along the way. You can either try to save the universe and win over your second officer, or like me, stab everyone in the back and make it with your first officer~The game is pretty non-violent. Even your strongest weapon is actually just a relocator device. You "fight" enemies by walking into them. If that enemy poofs, you've won. If your weapon isn't strong enough, you'll get bumped back and take on a little damage. Honestly, you can probably just edge around most enemies. They won't chase you, but I'd advise having a strong enough weapon just to avoid the nuissance of it. (There's no need to bother with shields.) The game offers some fun, self-aware humour. It's filled with amusing, silly dialogue and options. One thing that particularly stood out to me was the unique option to choose your own gender and pronouns. There isn't the typical drop down list, so whatever it is you'd like your character to be referred as, you can literally type in anything. ---IN A NUTSHELL VERSION- gameplay simple, story light-hearted and not too deep, great if you're looking for something laid back- non-violent, focuses more on character interactions than combat- choose your own gender and pronouns- has some fun, self-aware humour* In good concience, I do feel I need to give fair warning... This game is very social justicey. This is just one extra thing to take into consideration when buying the game, because it's not subtle. If you're all for that, cool! Get the game. If not, the game still has it's charm, but it's just the one extra thing to keep in mind. Either way, I think the game was fairly priced. Really. It costs nothing. I enjoyed it's humour throughout and I genuinely hope more people will try it out~ Good job to the creator.. This game is definitely not for everyone. The game itself is much more about character interactions and narrative than mechanics. Don't come to this game looking for deep or interesting combat—what it has is bumping into enemies. It does have interesting character moments, though, and it shows a lot of heart. It appears to me that the developer put a lot of effort into making it.Positives:• Interesting character interactions.• I've only played it once, so I can't confirm this, but there are numerous decision points that feel significant.• Detailed and varied environments.• A built in system to help the player identify important locations if they get stuck. This is a real frustration saver!• Some self-aware humor.Facts:• The game follows a very directed path. The story itself doesn't feel linear, but the gameplay does.• The setting is a space ship and several (very visually different) planets.Negatives• Too much inventory management. There are two important equipment categories—keys and tools—that you have to frequently navigate through several menus in order to change which ones you have equipped. You must do this with regularity.• It can often be difficult to determine what terrain elements are passable and which aren't.Overall, I enjoyed the game and feel that it is at a very fair price point.. This was a fun little romp for a few hours. Closer to a VN than a full-on game but "cute" is definitely the best word to describe it. All the visuals are very well done. I got a bit confused as to what I was supposed to do once or twice but that tends to happen with RPGMaker games.. Gorgeous visual novel style Sci-Fi RPG . Amazing art and plenty of cute Characters XDHas a low key Trekkie sort of style and lots of adventure. Plenty of charming moments with characters and Great use of humor in dialogue! If you you need something light and uplifting that's really damn PRETTY, look no further good people!it's unique and worth it X3. First things first--this is basically a visual novel. That's fine, I like visual novels, but it might disappoint others. There is, nominally, combat, but when you run (usually by accident) into an enemy, you either defeat it and get one Spacebuck or you don't and take damage. Enemies almost never block your path, and the main reason to use currency is to buy weapons, and weapons...allow you to beat stronger enemies. Hmmm.Aaaaanyway, this game is for people like me who just wanted a story about cute alien girls running around and trying to save the universe. For that, it delivered. While the main cast is a teeny bit simplistic, they, and the story, are endearing and occasionaly surprising. Bad♥♥♥♥♥♥ This game had a staff of three people, and it shows. Both the editing and programming have notable oversights (look! there's a typo in that screenshot up there). Neither the occasional mispellings or the walking through walls is ever bad enough to affect my enjoyment. Even when some odd decisions or errors would slow you down, the programmers have put in optional Helpful Dolls to guide you to all solutions and difficult-to-find exits (they're downright neccesary on the fourth planet; the sprites that are meant to guide you never spawn).Edit: I'd also like to point out the puzzle-solving mechanic. Obstacles present themselves as either locked doors or blockages that are easily surmounted with the correct tools: a shovel to dig up things, gardening gloves for thick weeds, etc. You utilize the keys and tools by equipping them to your main-character Captain...and ONLY your captain. Despite the fact you can equip tools and keys to all of your party members and you can even remove the Captain from the front line or even your visible party, only the items your Captain has currently equipped will influence what doors or obstacles you can deal with. To get past a blocked tunnel that occasionally pops up, one has to go to the menu, go to the equip screen, equip the shovel to Captain Whomever, dig away the loose soil, go back to the menu, enter the equip screen AGAIN, and equip a pickaxe to finally open the way forward. It was not a dealbreaker for me, but it easily could be for someone else.Edit 2: Electric Boogaloo : As of Jan 2017, the above comment about the mechanics has been fully fixed. Now anyone can use any tool or key they happen to equip, which both is a boost to quality, and gives a hilarious visual of your group of aliens armed with shovels, grabbers, and other hardware. This update removes almost all reservations I had with recommending this game.I will return to Save the Universe, Please like I do a well-liked novel.
